Marathon Monday update...

Sadly, nothing new and/or exciting to write about.... other than it is getting cold and rainy around here in Seattle.

Quite honestly I think I peeked to early....
when I was walking 17 1/2 miles on my long walks during the first two weeks of October I felt great... the weather was nice and I had the time to do it. But now with more and more school/birthdays/holidays/parties coming up I am finding more excuses not to go outside...

OH....AND SOMETHING ELSE TO NOTE....

I thought I would be LOSING WEIGHT... by walking to Timbucktoo and back.
I don't need to lose weight...but I was counting on it so I could gorge myself come prime cookie/cake/pie....err..holiday eating season...
but no....
I have actually gained 4lbs over the past month.....explain that one....
and DON'T say it's muscle.....
because I ain't buying it!

Whatever.........

Longest distance Mavis walked last week: 13.2 miles
Longest distance Mrs. Hillbilly walked last week: 8.4 miles

  1. About the 4 pounds gained...I read an article recently that said we often allow ourselves more "treats" after we've worked out because we think we've earned it. Problem is, our treats (or extra helpings or whatever) exceed, in calories, what we've burned. Better to think of our workout as the treat for our bodies and leave it at that. Just a little fun fact for everyone:-).

  2. I think you are right....but that is not going to stop me from baking a pie :) Maybe I'll just think of it as "There is more of me to love"....haha...that's funny... that's what my husband use to say when I was pregnant...

  3. I was thinking the same as what "Thy Hand Provided" said...it is so my downfall...thinking I can have more treats when I am faithfully working out! But...I also like the theory that there is more of you to love...that one works for me! I hope my hubby agrees! :)

    Blessings,

I LOVE comments BUT if you know who we are...due to the fact that we are currently enrolled in the international witness relocation program because of a moon shining incident in Dingle, Ireland involving 3 Mutton, a pair of red shoes and a road flare .... please do not reveal our personal information.... You know.... like names, places, or our favorite brand of toilet paper :) Hey, thanks!
