Better than a poinsettia......

I got a call from Mrs Hillbilly this morning...
she is hosting a party tonight for about 20 clients...

Translation: not a fun party...

Originally she called wanting to borrow some serving dishes...
then eventually the conversation turned to if I had a poinsettia she could borrow for her front porch.

"Are you kidding? Do you think I would actually BUY a poinsettia?"

"My dearest Mrs. Hillbilly... I can do better than that..."

Lucky for her I had read Rechelle's post earlier this morning...

This container is one of the many *free* items Mrs. Hillbilly received from our last Southern Living party... Watch as I fill it with *free* stuff...

Here I am... walking down her driveway...
trying to escape her rabid and smelly dog...

Look! Free Holly!

Look! A whole tote of free greenery...

All you have to do is lay it out...

and add a little pine and cedar to the overpriced bucket...

Look... Rechelle... we have matching gloves!

add some free holly...

find some pine cones and ribbon...

And there you have it folks...

It's free and festive...

and way better than a poinsettia!

Note to Mrs. Hillbilly... I will be expecting my "you're the best neighbor ever" cheesecake within 72 hours...

  3. That IS way better than a poinsettia. Mr. Handsome (who is peering over my shoulder) even says so.

  4. That was very cool way to replace a poinsettia and it was free. You are very creative. Thanks for sharing with us.

  6. Thank you for the arrangement. You forgot to mention that you suggested that Ms Hillbilly put a fragrance candle in the middle... which I did and it had not only a wonderful Southern pine smell but a nice glowy effect.

I LOVE comments BUT if you know who we are...due to the fact that we are currently enrolled in the international witness relocation program because of a moon shining incident in Dingle, Ireland involving 3 Mutton, a pair of red shoes and a road flare .... please do not reveal our personal information.... You know.... like names, places, or our favorite brand of toilet paper :) Hey, thanks!
