Picking green tomatoes.....

I hauled in another 22lbs of heirloom tomatoes today....

To maximize my tomato harvest (and my winter tomato sauce supply)

for the last few weeks I have been picking the tomatoes at the first sight of color....

and ripening them on one of the 10,005 windowsills around here....

They are everywhere I tell ya....

I have stacks and stacks of them.....

I'm almost done with my year's supply of oven roasted tomatoes....

I wonder if Seed Savers is hiring hand models...... (Amish Paste)
As long as I didn't have to get a manicure in some creepy nail salon where they re use the tools...I think I might be up for the job (Stupice)
Just so we are real clear on the issue.....I don't get manicures.....My mother made me get one when I was 16...she thought it would be a fun "treat" just the two of us girls.....
I had to talk to some strange lady for like 30 minutes and she put my hands in some sort of warming glove with lotion in it and I had to sit there and listen to her tell me about how I should really take better care of my nails.

And, as you now know I have been traumatized for life. And I will never "treat" my daughter to a $25 dollar manicure......actually come to think of it....I don't even own a single bottle of nail polish......I was THAT traumatized.....By the way...the tomato at the top of this rant is called "Powers Heirloom"....and I highly recommend it.

Advise for the day: Don't traumatize your daughter by taking her to some fancy smancy nail salon to get her nails painted. After all....if you were thinking more clearly you would of just spent $3 on a bottle of bubble gum pink nail polish and let her go to her room to paint her own nails by herself....cause teenagers like to hang out in their own rooms....for long periods of time.....and listen to music......and if after she gets married and has her own kids and she decides she wants to become and hand model for Seed Savers and other cool companies...then so be it....
Just think of all the therapy bills you will have saved her......
