Mavis goes snowboarding...

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE family vacations?

I'm not sure what I like more...
planning the vacation or actually going on vacation...

The monkeys wanted to learn how to snowboard...
because you know... all the cool kids are doing it.
So what's a parent to do?

I mean really...
The whole point of a family vacation is to do things as a family right?

I had high hopes of making some sort of video or taking a bunch of action photo's of our day... but when it takes you over 2 hours (with instruction) to figure out how to actually stand (balance?) on a snowboard... the thought of taking a video is a weeeee bit overwhelming...

It's amazing to me how quick the kids took to it...
In no time at all they were zipping down the mountain with great speed...
The handsome husband did very well too...

As for me and snowboarding?
Well... ummm... I tried it...
Once...
Yep... once is good enough for me...

I'd rather stick to ice skating instead...
But hey...I tried.

  1. Amazing how quickly the kids pick up on things like that! I do not plan to snow board ~ ever...but did you notice, I didn't say "never"? I've learned the hard way on that one. :)

  2. Camille... you're right... never say never... but take MY ADVISE... unless you have a bottle of muscle relaxers handy... do not attempt snowboarding... because 2 Advil is simply not going to cut it :) But the kids had a blast... and in the end... that's what counts... not the fact that I shriek in pain every time I get up from my chair :) Have a great (pain free) day!

  3. I've never tried it but it sure sounds like fun. Since they had such a good time you are going to have to take the kids snowboarding every weekend now.:)

  4. Mr. H... you should try it... being a guy, you'd probably like it...Actually I did try it a second time... the kids & husband sucked me into to going with them again today... and I actually had fun... I guess practice makes perfect... or at least day 2 means I could snowboard down the beginner hill and only fall twice :)Not bad for an old woman! And... I didn't break anything...which is always a plus... and on top of that... I only ran (plowed) into two people... so see... I'm getting better already!

I LOVE comments BUT if you know who we are...due to the fact that we are currently enrolled in the international witness relocation program because of a moon shining incident in Dingle, Ireland involving 3 Mutton, a pair of red shoes and a road flare .... please do not reveal our personal information.... You know.... like names, places, or our favorite brand of toilet paper :) Hey, thanks!
