Mavis's weekly photo update...

This week I dropped off 3 bags of food to the food bank...

I went dumpster diving...
looking for coupons...
...and I found them...
LOT'S of THEM!!!

I received goodies in the mail...
some free breathe right strips and a rebate check for $18...

I picked up a "few" yogurts... for a whopping $1.50

I went to a birthday party...
...mine...
It was at PANERA of course...
Little Miss Lawyer Pants and Leopard Girl treated me to lunch...

I had my favorite tomato soup and chicken cesar sandwich...

Leopard Girl had mac and cheese... and salad

Little Miss Lawyer Pants had soup in a bread bowl, and a salad...

But apparently she didn't get enough to eat because she tried to eat Leopard Girls food when she wasn't looking...

They let me take home their uneaten bread... I told them it was for the chickens...
I lied... I ate the bread...and the apple...all by myself...

*****

I bet you are wondering what kind of gifts I received on my big day... Well... we have a rule this year... basically you cannot buy a gift... it has to be either free or recycled...

Little Miss Lawyer pants gave me a coupon for a free pair of underwear...
it came in her mail the other day... what a nice gift...who doesn't love free underwear?

Also... they each gave me the coupons from their Sunday paper's...
I was especially excited when I noticed that they included DOUBLE COUPONS...
And... if that wasn't enough...
they surprised me with a big bag
(double bag actually wooo hoo)
of aluminum cans...
with a big red ribbon and everything...
How exciting is that?
Ahhh yes.... it's good to be Mavis...

Oh... and later that day... when I checked the mail... it was like I had hit the jack pot...
3 free diapers (for that baby I don't have) Benifiber, triple flex... and free cream of wheat...
I mean really... does it get any better than this?

Wait... actually it does...
I found this on my front porch...
A free melon...
From Mrs Hillbilly...

Yes, it's been a lovely week...
How about you...
What's the most exciting thing that has happened to you this past week?

  1. Great post Mavis! How wonderful that you are putting your coupon addiction to good use with all that food you are donating to the food bank. Just be careful you don't burn yourself out ~ then you'll be no good for anything!

How fun you got to go to Panera ~ I'm intrigued...never been, but feeling a craving coming on! ;-)

Exciting thing?? My sister lives in Southern California, so I found a seat sale fare to go visit her...booked those tickets last night...that's it for my exciting news. :)

    Have a great day!

  4. Happy belated Birthday lady!!! Looks like you had a pretty awesome day!!

As for exciting news, the sun is shining & as soon as the husband gets his butt in gear we are going to the deli & then home to make a raised garden box so that miss Kathy pants will be happy. I'm also going to use toilet paper tubes and old newspapers to start my seeds indoors.

Speaking of newspapers... I woke up thinking today was Saturday, even went to check for the newspaper all eager to clip my coupons. Tomorrow we shall embark on a virtual coupon clipping bonanza together =) Have a spiffy day!!

  5. how did you get so many yogurts for $1.50. I was happy that I got mine for $0.50(one pack only cause that's all I had coupons for). Also, I feel priveledged to have somehow gotten on the VS mailing list twice and this month I will be getting 2 free pairs of underwear. I don't think I've purchased any in several years. I just keep getting them free things in the mail and never miss out on cashing them in.

  6. Camille... cheap airline tickets are good! Have fun in SoCal...

Tiffany... Awesome! Bring on the warm weather... well... not to warm.

Mr. H... Thanks... Who knew that getting old could be soooo much fun :)

Kathy... Why do you think I haven't posted in a few days... there is soooo much free stuff this week I can hardly stand it!

Jen... They were on sale at Albertson's for $2 each... I had a $1 off coupon... and used a double coupon... so actually they were free... I paid $1 for the gum and .50 cents for something else I ate before I took a picture... I was also able to pick up 7 packages of egg noodles, a bunch of zone? bars, more yogurt, and a whole bunch of other stuff this week for free. I could seriously do this full time... but spring is here and I need to plant... so maybe I'll just stock up enough free stuff to last me thru summer :)

  7. Another Happy Birthday wish, Mavis:) You are brilliant about making trades with people ... and the only exchanging 'free' b/d gifts is a good idea too! We started buying b/d cards at the dollar store ... 2 for $1 ... who needs Hallmark;) You are an inspiration (although the coupon addiction is more perspiration;)

  8. Mrs. Mac... who needs Hallmark is right... If I want to wish someone Happy Birthday I'm not going to pay $3.95 for a card to tell them...

I LOVE comments BUT if you know who we are...due to the fact that we are currently enrolled in the international witness relocation program because of a moon shining incident in Dingle, Ireland involving 3 Mutton, a pair of red shoes and a road flare .... please do not reveal our personal information.... You know.... like names, places, or our favorite brand of toilet paper :) Hey, thanks!
